Northeast Boston Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY/NJ and PA and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands.  Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes.  All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes.  It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.

Some of them are from puppy mills. You can read about their unique challenges and rewards here.

NEBTR's single priority in Rescue is to serve the individual dog in our care.  While many loving homes - individuals and families - apply to adopt rescue dogs, we frequently receive multiple application for a dog.

Our placement process is intended to supply the DOG with a home suitable to meet its individual needs. Rescue volunteers also receive the same screening process as do the adopters.

Filling out an online adoption application is the first step to your adoption to enable us to match you with your potential new Best Friend.  References and home visits are also required elements to NEBTR adoption and it is our policy to complete the checks prior to matching dogs to adopters.

NEBTR does not buy or sell dogs

There is an adoption fee for a dog and it usually ranges between $150 and $600 depending on age, health and vet care requirements of the rescued dogs.  Adoption fees are in place to defer the veterinary costs for the dogs in our care.  All vet records known to NEBTR will accompany each dog upon completed adoption.

Our first and primary goal is to provide the best home possible for each dog so they will never have to come into Rescue or live in a Shelter again.  Placement is made based on the needs of each dog and the opportunity offered by an applicant's home.

Please feel free to review our application procedures and submit a request for consideration.

Sponsor a Foster Boston

MomMom  Boomer Bingo

Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue opens its arms to as many needy Bostons as it can.  They come from shelters, puppy mills, and owner surrenders,  There are  many pups who are ill, handicapped, or need expensive veterinary care before they can be placed in forever homes. The medical bills they face are huge, and NEBTR wants to be able to continue to help all the pups who need care.

We rely heavily on your contributions to keep caring for these dogs in foster care until they can join a forever home. Please click on the pictures above to read their stories, and if one of them tugs at your heart, consider sponsoring him or her.   You can click on the Paypal button at the bottom of the dog's bio to make a contribution.  You will be helping an animal who desperately needs your assistance.  Thank you!
